The historical society was formed on St. Patrick’s Day, 1984 when a group of interested people gathered at the Stone Circle in Grange.  25 years later the group is still vibrant and strong with over 80  members and a number of key objectives  such as:

·          to gather and recording historical information

·          arranging lectures and field trips

·          publication of historical journals

            -   The 15th historical journal was launched during the October Festival in Lough Gur in October 09 and copies of which are available for €10 from the honeyfitz theatre contact 087 285 2022

The Society has visited all important historical and archaeological sites in Ireland and trips abroad have taken us to Stonehenge, the lake district, Brittany and to celebrate 25 years in existence the Society travelled to Rome in March 2009.
