Heritage Week: Guided Kayaking Experience at Lough Gur

Celebrate Heritage Week with a unique guided kayaking experience on the tranquil waters of Lough Gur. Explore one of Ireland’s most important archaeological landscapes from a completely different perspective while discovering the rich history, folklore and ecology of the lake.

Led by experienced kayaking instructors and a local folklorist, this guided tour combines gentle adventure with storytelling, offering a rare opportunity to paddle across the lake as its ancient myths and fascinating past are brought to life.

Event Information

• Adult-only event (18+). Children are not permitted.
• No previous kayaking experience is required.
• All safety equipment, including helmets and personal flotation devices, will be provided.
• Wetsuits are available if required.
• Please wear old shoes suitable for getting wet. Crocs, sandals and open-toe footwear are not permitted.
• Participants should expect to get wet.

Please meet at 5:30pm at the Woodland Kiosk in the main car park before the session begins.
